Mobile Elevated Work Platforms Course

The Mobile Elevated Work Platform training course is designed for workers that operate scissor lifts or articulating booms and other man lifting devices at an industrial establishment or construction site. According to MOL and OHSA standards, any worker using these types of lifting devices must have the training, knowledge and experience to operate any lifting devices they will use on a regular basis. Labour standards also mandate that workplace supervisors must be trained and competent enough to oversee their workers’ use of these devices. Our training program consists of a combination of theory and practical modules which will educate students on the concepts and principles for safe operation of both scissor lift & articulating boom style lifting devices.

The course material is energetically delivered by an experienced trainer covering the following topics as they relate to the safe operation of Mobile Elevated Work Platforms:
Safety regulations and legal requirements
Hazards and risks related to the operation of elevated work platforms
How to identify safe and unsafe work environments
Personal fall protection devices and protective equipment used in the industry
How to properly perform a daily inspection
Basic battery and propane safety as it relates to equipment use
Review of the owner’s manual
A hands-on demonstration of the operational controls
Practical time operating the equipment
